KATA BEACH

5 minutes walking distance from the resort.

Kata Beach enriches and charms many visitors with its white sand and clear water and spectacular palm line, very popular for families. Water sports are available at the beach i.e. jet ski, banana boat and parachute. There is very attractive snorkeling or diving site-Koh Puu, directly from the beach without strong currents that suitable for either beginner or experienced dives.

Phi Phi Island

The Phi Phi Islands is located between the large island of Phuket and the western Andaman Sea coast of the mainland, leaving Avista Phuket Resort & Spa at morning about 2 hours to get there.
Phi Phi island is fortunate to be surrounded by some of the most outstanding reefs and spectacular scenery in the Andaman Sea. Each day tourists are enchanted by the natural beauty and charismatic charm that this tiny island has to offer, protected as a National Marine Park. There are no vehicles on the island and a lot of people walk barefoot all day.

Laem Promthep

Prom Thep Cape, 'Prom' is Thai for the Hindu 'Brahma' signifying purity, and 'Thep' means 'God'. Promthep is a headland stretching in to the sea and forming the mthep extreme south-end of Phuket It has been a prominent feature for mariners since of early seafarers from the sub-continent, remains of whose journey's have been found all along the Malay-peninsula's west coast. it is one of Phuket's most inspiring vistas which is the most beautiful place to catch Phuket's famous sunset, We recommend you to make the trip fromAvista Phuket Resort & Spa to that viewpoint in the evening between 5:40 and 18:40 pm, as this is the time when You can enjoy the sea and islands splendid view and southern sunset.

Karon Beach

Karon Beach is located on the western coast of Phuket, just a few minutes walk fromAvista Phuket Resort & Spa The beach is a popular destination for tourists. Generally quieter than neighbouring Patong Beach, it is especially popular among families and couples.

Patong

Patong Beach is a beach on Phuket's west coast. It is the main tourist resort in Phuket and contains the centre of Phuket's nightlife and cheap shopping on the island. It take 20 minutes by Tuk Tuk from Avista Resort and Spa, you will enjoy the shopping and nightlife there.

Weekend Market

The biggest local market in Phuket is the weekend market in Phuket town. The weekend market in Phuket town is also known as Talad Tai Rot, meaning “car boot sale”. The real name of the market in Phuket is Chao Fah Variety market Chaofaa east and west road. It is easy to find if you are at the Central festival intersection and going south on Chaofaa west road around 1 km and then take left, opposite Wat Nakha. After your dinning at Avista Phuket Resort & Spa, you can visit and shoppping at the market, starts weekends late afternoon until late.

 
 

Diving

From Avista Phuket Resort & Spa to Kata Beach, has apart from the excellent diving, spectacular and magical surroundings, clear warm water, exotic marine life. More important, difference divesites that appeal to scuba divers with different levels of diving experience.


Scuba Diving

Diving in Phuket's clear blue waters is best from November through to May, make diving here an extraordinary experience. However, monsoon winds and surface swells in the Andaman Sea during the rainy season, running from late May to October, can make remote spots inaccessible. Whether you're a total beginner or an experienced diver wishing to upgrade your skills, Phuket is a great place to take diving courses. Ranging from short introductory courses, which include a sample dive, until Standards of diving instruction are extremely high. Kata beach os one of the most famous beach to do it and just take a walk for a few minutes from Avista Phuket Resort & Spa to take a scuba experiences.


Snorkeling

if you don't fancy diving or simply haven't got the time to do a dive course, snorkeling is an enjoyable way to view Phuket's underwater beauty. An added bonus to snorkeling is that you have a better chance of seeing fish. Snorkeling can be enjoyed by simply hiring a mask, snorkel and fins from a nearby dive shop and swimming out to one of the reefs on Phuket's west coast, The area of Kata Beach is one of the best snorkeling spots that you can get to without a boat. Fishing

Phuket has been gaining an international reputation for game fishing. The surrounding waters of the Andaman Sea and the now famous Drop Off, Kata and West beaches, are home to some of the world's most prized game fish and not far from Avista Phuket Resort & Spa. The fish-rich waters of the Andaman Sea offer exceptional fishing for Wahoo, Dorado, Barracuda, Giant Trevally, Cobia, Rainbow Runner, King Mackerel, Queenfish, numerous species of Tuna, several species of Shark and one of the most sought-after gamefish - the Black Marlin.


Wind Surfing

Windsurfing equipment is available for hire from local shops. Boards may be rented by the hour, half-day, full day or longer. Lessons for beginners are available. The best time for windsurfing in Phuket is during the dry season, from November to May. The winds are steadiest from November to February. Windsurfing during the rainy season, from May to October is not recommended due to the rough seas and monsoon winds. With no far from Avista Phuket Resort & Spa, Kata Beach is the idea for beginners, the southern end of this beach is probably the most popular spot on Phuket.



Surfing

Phuket is not a world class surfing destination. If you want a surfing holiday then you are better off going somewhere else. That said, during the rainy season from May to October, there are rideable waves, which even though they aren't big can be a lot of fun. For the rest of the year, it is almost totally flat with the very occasional freak swell but don't hold your breath. Take the Tuk Tuk from Avista Resort&Spa to watch for free at the stadium at the crossing of Bangla Road and Rath-U-Thit Road. There is also a stadium in Phuket Town.

Stunt show

About 20-30 minutes from Avista Phuket Resort & spa, The Phuket Stunt Show is a once nightly action packed entertainment show that will thrill and excite audiences of all ages and nationalities. Aqua Spectacular' show is the latest and the most dynamic permanent tourist attraction in South East Asia. Open evryday except Wednesday.

 
 

Dino Park Mini Golf

Just walking distance from Avista Phuket Resort & Spa, Family Fun Night at Dino Park offers an opportunity to play golf within a unique environment. This 18-hole course features authentic scale replicas of prehistoric creatures, and presenting an exciting view of the prehistoric world. Golfers can play beside a primeval swamp, in a lava cave, beside moving and roaring dinosaurs, under a 12-meter waterfall and beneath an erupting volcano.

Aquarium

As Thailand's major marine biological research station, the centre conducts research on tropical reef ecosystems, commercial fisheries, and other projects. The centre also hatches and breeds species of endangered sea turtles in order release them back into the sea. Phuket aquarium is located near the southern tip of the island at Ao Makham on Cape Panwa. A taxi or tuk tuk from Avista Phuket Resort & Spa will take about 40 minutes.


Butterfly Kingdom

The garden itself is one of most lush and beautiful in Phuket. A fascinating place to visit, the Phuket Butterfly Garden and Insect World is both an entertaining and educational experience for visitors of all ages. There are more than 40 species of butterflies fluttering freely throughout the colourful tropical garden under a large dome.You can also learn about the breeding techniques used by the butterfly garden and may even see a butterfly hatching. Take a TukTuk service from Avista Phuket Resort & Spa to Butterfly Garden and Insect World which is located in Sam Kong, at the northwest edge of Phuket City, not far from Tesco Lotus Supercentre.
 
 

Phuket Go Kart Speedway

Phuket Kart is a speed lovers dream Located in Kathu which is just over the hill from Patong Beach approximately 20 minutes from Avista Phuket Resort & Spa. Motorsports aficionados of all skill levels and ages can burn up the go kart track, explore the jungle on the ATV's, and tear up the motocross on dirt bikes.


Phuket Old Town

You may take taxi 30 minutes from Avista Phuket Resort & Spa to Old Town Phuket, a maze of one-way streets and small sois (alleyways). Walking tours of Phuket Town are also the best perspective from which to take in some of the city’s beautiful Sino-Portuguese architecture. Architecture in Phuket dates back to the tin mining era, roughly 80-120 years ago. Thalang road, off of Yaowarat Road, hosts many of the oldest Sino-Portuguese style buildingsrecommended. There has recently been an effort to raise awareness of Phuket Town’s historic streets and night markets are periodically held. Take yourself back to a simpler time by walking beneath the strings of fairy lights strung across the charming streets of Phuket City, surrounded by food sellers and craft stalls.


Elephant Trekking

Elephant trekking can be a memorable experience not to be missed during your stay in Phuket at Avista Phuket Resort & Spa, especially for family. There are numerous elephant camps around Phuket that provide an opportunity to ride on an elephant along a trail through jungle and rubber plantations. Most of these elephant safaris are relatively short, 30 mins to 1 hour, though you do get to take in a lot of the natural surroundings on your way. Therefore, most elephant treks will also involve a ride on bamboo rafts or buffalo cart as well. There is also usually an elephant show in which trained elephants perform various tasks.


Trekking

To experience a different side of Phuket while your staying at Avista Phuket Resort & Spa, try a trek through the island's interior. Khao Phra Thaew National Park is Phuket's last remaining virgin rainforest and is home to protected species of wild animals. The national park has several forest trails for hiking and guides can be hired from the reserve office near Ton Sai waterfall. There are also tour companies that take small groups on excursions through jungle paths, which also include hotel transfers, English-speaking jungle guides, and drinks.


Thalang National Museum

If you want to learn more about the history of Phuket we recommend a visit to the Thalang National Museum. This museum was established in 1985 in Thalang just 200 meters from the Heroines Monument. Built in a southern architectural style, the museum exhibits the Battle of Thalang, the way of life, culture and history of Phuket and the South. Take the Tuk Tuk service from Avista Phuket Resort & Spa about 30 minutes to get there.



Boat cruising

You can hire boats everywhere around the Island or near by Avista Phuket Resort & Spa, Kata Beach. It might be a so called long tail boat (old fishing boat) that can be chartered for the day or a couple of hours. There are also speed boats available along with cruise ships doing tours to Phang Nga bay and other exciting destinations.


Bunjee jumping

Formerly known as Tarzan Jungle Bungee Jump, Southern Thailand's highest bungee jump. this is a 50m (165 ft.) jump over a lagoon surrounded by lush jungle. Opened in 1992, Jungle Bungee boasts a 100% safety record, and provides full insurance cover. Jungle Bungee is located in Kathu, halfway between Patong and Phuket City. Only 30 minutes from Avista Phuket Resort & Spa.
