Jungceylon is a world class shopping and entertainment destination in Phuket. It is located right on the famous and lively Patong Beach (about 20 minutes from our hotel in Phuket) and is also called the “Center of Life Leisure”. It is one of the biggest shopping centers in the Southern Thailand. There are over three hundred local and international shops organized into zones for fashion, dining and entertainment. But Jungceylon is more than just a shopping center. There are many things to do there. There are movie theaters, restaurants, cafes, bars, The Mario Land, which is Patong’s biggest game zone. You can also go there to XD Theater for 4D Motion and Ride Experience, and find many more fun and relaxing activities.

Central Festival

Central Festival is another big (more than 120,000 square meters) shopping and entertainment center in Phuket. You can find there Thai and all kinds of world class products. As above described Jungceylon, the Central Festival is also the place with all kinds of shopping and entertainment attractions. You can find there all the most popular international brands of fashion and cosmetics. There is the International Fast Food Zone with more than 45 restaurants and café, such as Starbucks, McDonalds’, ZEN Restaurant, Wine Connection, Burger King, KFC, Oishi Ramen, Yamazaki, Baskin Robbins, Mister Donut, Swensens, Haagen-Dazs, Ice Monster, Dairy Farm, Chicco De Café, Sushi Box, Dairy Queens, Body Shape Coffee, Segafredo, Auntie Anne’s and etc.

If you don’t like the fast food you can eat at Central Food Hall where you can have Thai and worldwide food and premium products of more than 50,000 items.

There are also movie theaters, book stores, restaurants and all kinds of shops.

Weekend Market

Although not as big as the Weekend Market in Jatujak, Bangkok, it is a must place to see if you want to have an experience of a typical market i Thailand.

The Weekend Market is the biggest local market on the Phuket Island. It is in the Phuket town and is also known as Talad Tai Rot which means “car boot sale”. It is located just outside Phuket City off Chao Fa West road, near Naka Temple.

In the Weekend Market you can buy almost anything. There is a lot of food with all kinds of exotic dishes. If you want you can even buy and try fried insects there. There are a lot of clothes (new and second hand), books, CDs and DVDs, handicraft, antiques and much, much more.

There are also many other places where you can buy Asian arts. You can buy the Asian art from Thailand, but also from other Asian countries like Burma, Indonesia, China, Laos and India.

If you are interested in handicraft go to Ranong Rd in Phuket Town where you can find shops selling beautifully woven baskets, mats, blinds and other functional wicker products.

Phuket is the name of the island in Thailand, but it is also a name of the Province in Thailand to which belong the Phuket Island and some other smaller but beautiful islands near the Phuket Island. Phuket is also the name of the biggest town on the island which is located in the southeast of the island.

Although it is an island it is very easy to travel to Phuket. There is an airport in Phuket, which is also the international airport, but the Phuket Island is also connected to the main land by two bridges. The island is located in the Andaman Sea, off the west coast of Thailand.

One of the reasons that so many tourists arrive to Phuket in December, January and February is that those are winter months in Europe, where most of the tourist come from. Although nowadays there are also more and more tourists coming from Asian countries like China, Korea, Japan and India.

Apart from the beauty of the nature in Phuket, the island is also very popular because of exciting and sometimes wild nightlife. There are a lot of bars and pubs in Phuket where people can relax after spending their days on the beach, trekking in the mountains, sightseeing or playing different sports.

Another great thing about the Phuket Island is superb accommodation. There are many hotels, resorts and guest houses for all kinds of budgets. There are also many popular resorts and spas where people can be pampered by very qualified Thai masseurs and masseuses, and can not only relax, but also improve their health.
